The CSA is almost pin straight (old school, nice!). The Bear Claw Spruce is magnificent. Clearly, Manouk chose superior woods for his This has to be one of his nicest instruments that have come across my bench. I received this guitar a few months ago, realizing that poor repairs were done on her. I’ve remedied all of that, with proper cleating, sealing and refinishing of the top. She came out really well. You can feel nothing. I felt it best to leave some of the scratches and play wear alone, top and back, as it wasn’t worth changing the overall character of the top, with his original finsih. The back and sides were refreshed, without changing much of anything. The guitar is in very good condition as a result. I’ve taken numerous photos to illustrate, the repaired crack, as well as the dings and such in and around the top and the back. I set her up to play, yet not with any difficulty. I’ll post the action when I update the measurements. Intonation is excellent. I played her this late afternoon, finally. She was quiet at first, unresponsive, and then it hit. The voice was very clear, articulate. The blend of the mids, very piercing, with the basses that bloomed was impressive. I played her for an hour as my warm-up, finding myself with a big smile as I walked to the case. His guitars have sold for $5-6K in very good condition, especially those with his name tiled in the rosette. __________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – 180610-1968 Manouk Papazian Spruce CSA – superbly setup, plays with little effort. The setup has allowed the guitar to ring true and powerfully. Couple that with the expected sing of the trebles and the overall balance expected from a Papazian and you have classical guitar perfection.
