She plays to a 640mm scale length, meaning easier, facilitating stretches, etc for those with smaller hands.  Robert is calling this body and model his “Urbano” Model, based on the Spanish Torres plantilla, but clearly with his own design of bracing and sound bar construct.  He tells me that he started building these guitars about 10 years ago, wanting to make a Torres-like guitar, using some elements of the Torres formula, but veering off, using many of his own designs.  It pays homage to the Antonio Torres, who was born in La Canada de San Urbano (thus the name of the model) in Almeria. The woods are beautiful, as Rob never skimps on quality, or his time.  His attempt to bring a quality concert level guitar, with exquisite woods, to the market at a more than competitive price are more than realized in this beauty. Rob described his own build, bracing patterns and use of sound bars in this guitar, with this model being called his Urbano Model. I can tell you that the guitar plays beautifully, sounds great, with clear voices and good balance.  No boominess in the basses, but a clear lilting voice across all the registers.  I just opened her up, examination complete, and sat with her to play immediately.  She’s quite literally brand new and she sounds like this?  Huh, not fair.  LOL Beautiful guitar.  Rob corrected a few things for me as seen below – “Hello Rich, “Urbano” #179 cocobolo/spruce, lacquer back sides and neck. french polish top, Indian rosewood bridge, head piece veneer and binding. old stock Honduras mahogany neck, ebony fret board, all the rest same as last striped ebony “Urbano” Thanks Rich!  Robert Vincent” ___________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible.
